Sometimes it takes a certain musician’s meanderings to fit the mood just right. For dinner parties, to work to, as background music. For me, two albums in particular have become my “nap” albums over the years. They signify effortless duals between ethereal sounds and silence, perfect to slip into rejuvenative slumber with. Or perhaps, simply to find yourself whilst reflecting.
Kaki King’s second full length album Legs to Make Us Stronger does that for me. Here’s a track called Neanderthal that gives you a sense of what I mean. This has been a mainstay for many-a naps and rainy days.
The SoundCloud link I originally shared went dark, so take a listen to this live version for a taste from a performance a few years back.
